Gstaad Menuhin Festival
It is the richest festival in tradition in the Alps, which combines music and tourism at the highest level and organizes since 1957 every summer between mid-July and early September in Gstaad and the entire Saanenland around 70 concerts. Besides concerts with stars of the classical world, numerous academies, children, youth and amateur projects as well as concert series with young and emerging artists take place in the spirit of Yehudi Menuhin. The concerts are performed in the historically significant churches of the Saanenland or in the large festival tent. The current tent, which was constructed in 1999 to replace the original one, remains in Gstaad throughout the year and its surprisingly good acoustics is appreciated by orchestras and instrumentalists.
Christoph Müller has been artistic director (Intendant) of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival since 2002.
